Our Work

Northside UMC
Since 2012 we have been the primary design and integration company for every major audiovisual and acoustics project at Northside UMC. Over the years we have performed significant renovations in the Sanctuary, Chapel, and Faith & Arts Center. Our 2019 renovation of the Faith & Arts Center also awarded us the opportunity to upgrade the projector and audio systems in the elementary school worship space. In 2020, we were the audiovisual and acoustics design/build team for the new “loft,” youth space and replaced the lighting dimming system in the Fellowship Hall. In 2022 we designed and built a high end recording and broadcast studio to enhance the inhouse capabilities for album production and live broadcast. Northside currently consists of 5 major worship and multi-use spaces and one recording and broadcast facility that are all interconnected for purposes of overflow or content capture.

Mt. Bethel Church
In 2017 we designed and built the AVL systems for "The Gathering" service at Mt. Bethel UMC. The service was held in their gym and every week the space had to be converted to a 400 seat full contemporary worship space. One of the most interesting aspects of this room was that the speakers for the contemporary service were mounted on retractable winch systems and raised out of the way during the week. Our success with “The Gathering” project earned us a call to renovate the audio, video, and lighting in "The Upper Room" junior high worship space. In 2019 we assisted the Mt. Bethel production team with the construction of "The Garage" high School, Sunday school space. The pandemic in 2020 brought the need for upgraded streaming capabilities. We upgraded the lighting systems, cameras, and audio consoles in Mt. Bethel's main sanctuary and broadcast suite to provide a higher tier of production content for on-line broadcast. As congregants returned to live worship in 2021, we helped upgrade the North Campus AVL Systems and designed/installed acoustic treatments in the "Upper Room." 2023 saw the unfortunate failure of the main sanctuary PA system presented us with the opportunity to upgrade these systems to a more modern technology. Since this was an unplanned upgrade, cost was the primary concern. Even with the budgetary limitations, we were able to put in an AC6 based EAW adaptive system that covers the room in a very consistent manner but maintains the desired traditional aesthetic of the space.

Impact Church
Impact Church is a unique United Methodist congregation in East Point, GA. This building was formerly a floor joist factory that was renovated in 2014 to create a church. The facility has a kid's space, a youth space and a main auditorium that acts as both a worship and multi-use conference space. Like most of the facilities we design, all of the spaces are interconnected for purposes of overflow and content capture. The unique part of the facility comes in the fact that the main room is designed to be easily reconfigured for multiple seating layouts and even divided into multiple sections if needed. During the initial install in 2014, we had to re-use many portions of the portable systems that were used during the years that the congregation met in a school. Since 2014 we have upgraded the video switching systems, cameras, lighting and PA. We are also slated to be the design/build AVL and Acoustics integrator for the buildout of the remaining sections of their facility, including the new 1800 seat worship center.

St. Clare Catholic Church
When St. Clare Catholic Church moved from a portable environment to their new home in Acworth, GA, we were selected as the audiovisual design/build firm for the job. As a growing Catholic congregation, clarity of spoken word and the ability to overflow into other spaces were paramount to the success of their new facility. We designed and built an audio system that covered the entire 600 seat sanctuary with consistent, balanced, intelligible audio. This system could also overflow into the narthex area and a number of additional classroom spaces. We complimented the audio system with a matrix switching video system that could send any video signal to any display in the building and stream services to the web. With an all volunteer production staff, we made these systems super user-friendly using custom iPad-based wireless control.

St. Andrew United Methodist Church
St. Andrew UMC approached us in early 2021 struggling with some pretty severe issues caused by a dated and worn-out AVL system in their contemporary worship space. We worked with the church to develop a phased plan for upgrade that met their budgetary needs. In May of 2021, we implemented phase one of this process with new audio systems in the contemporary space and the addition of streaming cameras and encoders in both their contemporary space and their sanctuary.

Coop3r Studios
Casey Cooper runs the world's largest YouTube Channel that is dedicated to drumming. We met Casey when he was attending Freedom Church and when it came time to build his new studios, he turned to us for design. His tracking room has some of the latest and greatest digital recording hardware available. The technology combined with custom interior acoustical treatments and sound isolation measures make this studio a true pleasure to work in for any engineer.

Starscream Studio
Grayson Barton, the owner of Starscream, met us through one of our client churches that he happened to attend. When he set out to build his dream studio, he employed us as the principal consultants for acoustics and technology. Upon completion, his facility boasts a Protools-based studio with Focusrite and Universal Audio interfaces, a control room, live tracking room, a vocal booth, closed circuit camera system for viewing the different spaces, and an amazing green room with a 120" screen movie theater.

Consulting Work
When the initial form of our company was founded, we realized that most integration firms did not employ design staff with our qualifications. Over the last 10 years we have developed the consulting side of our business to encompass a large number of integrators in all shapes and sizes. This side of our business has allowed us to be the acoustical and audiovisual system designers on some of the most prominent churches and performance facilities in the country.
“Recently, Blue Watermelon AV performed an audio training session for our production team. It went so well!!! Aaron and Wayne were great! Our guys walked out motivated and gained so much knowledge from the workshop. Blue Watermelon set an awesome foundation that will help standardize our church sound. We cannot thank them enough for their professionalism and knowledge. We cannot thank them enough for delivering and cannot wait to continue doing business with them.”
